Four Villages Horticultural Society (FVHS)

Membership of the society is open to all residents of Allington, Boscombe , Cholderton and Newton Toney. We also welcome members from surrounding area. We try to plan our programme to suit everyone, for those who know little about gardening to those for whom it is a passion.

Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of January to May and September to November, in Newton Toney Memorial Hall, at 7.30pm unless otherwise stated. The Society also holds Special Events including garden visits and an Annual show.

The annual subscription is £15.00 per person.

Visitors are welcome (usually at a charge of £3.00). Further information from the chairman.

We have a thriving and hardworking committee, but extra help is always much appreciated on Plant Sale & Show Day. Please consider volunteering.

Friends of Newton Toney School (FONTS)

Who are Newton Toney's FONTS team?

FONTS - the Friends of Newton Tony School PTA - and was founded with the aim to raise funds for our beautiful primary school in Newton Tony. Newton Toney primary is a school that's small, but with FONTS' help, it thinks big!

Why does FONTS exist - and what do they do?

All parents, guardians and teachers are automatically PTA members. These parents, teachers, families and friends work hard together throughout the year, with their goal being to raise vital funds that will enhance the education and enjoyment of all the children attending the school.

All proceeds raised by FONTS go to supporting the school's pupils with additional and extra-curricular equipment, and also to funding trips and in contributing to future building projects for the school. The school is currently in the happy position of including the children of families living in the village of Newton Toney amongst its pupils.

FONTS Annual Events

Some of the events we have held include Jumble Sales, Open Gardens, Bake Offs, the Spring Fayres, and the November 5th Bonfire Night Christmas Fairs. We have been able to count all of these occasions as real successes, thanks to the efforts and commitment of the Friends of Newton Toney School.

Our fun & fund-raising activities have enabled us to provide equipment for inside and outside use at the school, and have even paid for the opportunity to send each child to the popular yearly traditional Panto in Salisbury. FONTS funding has also allowed the school to acquire diverse and rewarding educational equipment, such as a sound system, book vouchers for the children, and pop-up gazebos - to name only a few of the items!

In the village, a FONTS representative is always present at the monthly Newton Toney Memorial Hall Management Committee meetings. Normally, our Chair attends - or in their absence, a nominated FONTS representative.
